Wholesale prices surge, and bonds rally anyway.
Friday's free morning journal: producer prices printed the hottest since 2022 — September PPI up 1.3% on the month against +0.5% expected — and bonds rallied anyway, the 10-year easing to 5.089% as the Dow jumped 1.08% and the chip index fell a seventh straight session. Futures start green — the S&P future up 0.2% at 7,805.75, the Nasdaq future up 0.1% at 30,174 and the Dow future up 0.3% at 52,577 — into industrial production at 9:15 AM ET. The Engine List holds twenty-three names, with Engine Pick stars on IBM, SNOW, APH and CSCO.
